Blog 1- iBall/ Twitter

Golfers of all skill levels lose golf balls throughout their career. Golfers purchase brand balls for top dollar. Eventually in game play, these balls will end up lost in the woods, in the water or sometimes lost on the rough next to the fairway! iBall will be the newest, most technologically advanced golf ball on the market.
A locator chip is built into the core of each ball. This enables the golfer to locate their ball at all times on their GPS application. An application will be created for mobile devices in order to “locate” your iBall.
A list of serial numbers will be inside each box of iBall golf balls when purchased. Before use, you enter the serial number into the application on your mobile device. This will enable the locator chip. The Locate Application will consist of a GPS, on which will appear a real-time location of your iBall.
I will use Twitter to market my product in order to relay new information to the consumer. I will hope to make iBall a trending topic on Twitter. With the use of Twitter, I can promote my product to consumers and listen to their feedback concerning the iBall

  1. I have lost more golf balls than i care to mention. I have wondered for a long time if this would be possible. You might want to look into FRID chips that might lower the cost and be more resistant to being struck than a gps based ball. Just a consideration.

  2. RFID was my original idea. I was waiting to see if it was covered in lecture to mention it
