I plan to use RFID (radio frequency identification) for my product. RFID chips are very small and can be put on or into almost anything. The RFID will be used to locate where the golf ball is on the golf course from the application on your phone.
The RFID chip will be placed in the center of the golf ball before the core material is placed. Each ball will have a separate RFID chip with a specific code to plug into your phone application in order to activate the ball.
It is necessary to use an active tag RFID because it will need to measure greater distances. Active tags have the longest communication range and are battery powered for more advanced use.
I really like your ideas to use RFID tags with the golf balls. One thing that I would also think about is the output aspect, specifically, what the mobile device would tell you when you lose a ball and are trying to locate it. Would it show you a map on the screen that you could navigate to or listed directions? Overall, great job, I would just try to think about both the input and outputs of your idea as a whole.
